Professional Greek Council (PGC) Founding

As a member of both a professional engineering fraternity and of a traditional social sorority, I've been lucky to see two vastly different sides of what Greek organizations can be. One of the biggest differences I noticed early on in my experience, though, was the style of leadership between chapters and universities - Greek councils. In my experience, the additional layer of leadership and support for my social sorority is a significant factor in how well the underlying chapters function, and it also serves as a convenient way for members with similar interests to meet and interact. Not only this, but having a larger surrounding community meant a wider pool for advertising philanthropy efforts, fundraising projects, and other events. My professional Greek organization simply didn't have that additional help, so even with a dedicated team of members and creative ideas, it struggled to reach a similar level of impact compared to my social sorority. Ultimately, this led me to search for a path to forming a new council, tailored just for professional Greek organizations and their specialized needs: PGC (Professional Greek Council).

Over the course of this endeavor, I met with several people involved with the FSL (Fraternity & Sorority Life) office, and was advised to draft a formal Constitution and Bylaws for the eventual PGC. This can be found just below!

Though this Honors Experience has formally concluded, any further updates on this founding process will be added as they occur!
